CG practice - Silhouette bust by Zoberraz CG practice - Silhouette bust by Zoberraz
Okay, at first this was just some random scribble that came up in my sketchbook and I told myself "Hey, it's not so bad. Cute actually. Too bad it's just a scribble." Scanned it anyways just for having it on my HD and left it there for a week.

At that point, I decided I wanted to CG... for the sake of CGing. I don't do enough of that. So, I looked around and found that sketch. Since the Mith CG, I had endeavored to Digitally ink my art, though that takes a lot of time just to redraw the lines over the pencil line - but in this case, it was exactly what the scribble needed, so I went to work.

Not sure how long it took, but I did it in one sitting in an evening (the CG - the drawing itself was just a few minutes - it just spontaneously had come out rather good).

Well, yes... practice. I only have the traditional pencil media scanned and then Photoshopped to try adding color to it. Problem is that, while digital inking over the lines with the mouse (use the Pen tool and then once done make a stroke along the path drawn) yields rather clean, near vectorial quality result - it's still just what you' epect for a digital ablet user to do.

Still, I'm pleased I as able to eleminate most of my black countour lines. I did that by keeping the lineart proper and then making it a darker color of the region that surrounded it - I hear it's a method Capcom uses to make it's sprites not stand out with black contours.
